Environmental Programme
Develop the knowledge, skills and sense of agency to empower the participants to become life-long Green Influencers.
The aim of the project is to develop the knowledge, skills and sense of agency and even the sense of urgency, to empower the participants in our program to become life-long Green Influencers. We approach sharing and understanding of seemingly esoteric or arcane subjects like carbon literacy, environmental footprints and the promotion of sustainable practices with practical engaging scientific pizzazz. We work together to make learning fun and interactive.
GREEN PROJECT UPDATES
The Great Imagining - Cannock Chase
HAOS joined partnered with The Great Imagining - Cannock Chase, a council initiative with a launch event of Artworks, campaigns and information to inspire and empower the community to imagine a greener, fairer and wiser future. The Green Influencer group from Handsworth Wood Girls Academy teach carbon literacy to schools. This is the foundation to the campaign to get families and schools to reduce their carbon footprint by 10% this year and the green influencer group from Wattville Primary launch the No Mow campaign - encouraging schools to take part by demonstrating ‘the fruits of pollination’ with a smoothie bike on a recycled road with hand-made flowers.
Testimonials
"I have learnt about climate change and have influenced my family and I have told them all about how we can change the way we eat and to be stronger for our body and the carbon footprint. Thank you Green Influencers x." - Anaiya
"I told my auntie about the Green Influencers, and she said she will stop using plastic and grow more trees in her garden." - Gursimran
"I influenced my family to stop eating meat, to stop wasting food and they started telling their friends and their friends telling their family and so on. Finally, I also influenced my family to use LED lights instead of using lamps in their/our bedrooms." - Iqra

Allotment Project
Our Allotment space at Livingstone Road will be used for developing our Green Projects. Children will get the opportunity to go down to the allotment and participate in planting and growing as well as learning about the environment.
